Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Liquor, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa
Global cocoa production averages 4.8–5.2 million tonnes annually, with West Africa supplying over 70% of all raw cocoa beans and Côte d’Ivoire alone contributing roughly 2.2 million tonnes. Ghana remains the second‑largest producer with 750,000 tonnes, while Nigeria and Cameroon add additional regional supply. Despite Africa’s dominance in cultivation, over 65% of global cocoa processing capacity is concentrated in the Netherlands, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brazil, where beans are converted into cocoa powder, butter, and liquor for industrial use. Demand for cocoa continues to expand across the EU, USA, China, and emerging Asian markets, generating over $12 billion in annual import value and positioning cocoa as one of the most strategically important agricultural commodities for chocolate, confectionery, beverage, and cosmetic manufacturing. Cocoa offers strong commercial advantages: stable long‑term demand driven by chocolate consumption, predictable seasonal harvest cycles, and high‑margin downstream opportunities in grinding, pressing, alkalizing, and specialty chocolate production. Buyers increasingly reward suppliers that deliver traceability, sustainability certification, and consistent fermentation quality, while origin countries such as Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana continue investing in local processing to capture greater value.
